This all-purpose big fluffy brush from MAC is for powder application or for just buffing the cheeks to create a great polished look
A great blush brush is a must to get that perfect cheek. We love this particular brush from MAC because of it’s symmetrical beveled edges are perfect for using one side for application and the other clean side for blending blush lines out.
A good depositing/shader brush is a must for lid application. This particular brush from MAC deposits a good amount of shadow onto the eye and is soft enough to shade and blend well.
For those of us who hate to leave the house without at least some contour to show off our lovely cheekbones, this MAC brush makes the job so much easier. It’s shaped just right for placement of contour and is brush of choice for a soft natural contour (of course you can go much more dramatic and heavier if you choose).
Every woman who loves to do eyes needs a great blending brush so that harsh lines of eyeshadow can be blended out properly. This brush from MAC has duo fibers and it’s tapered point is perfect to blend out a particular spot instead of smudging all of the colors together.
We all need a good small angled brush to make our brows look natural. What makes this MAC brush so great that you can also use it to do a soft, sultry, smokey eyeliner. We just love when our brushes serve a dual purpose.
Lastly, this is all of our artist's favorite eyeliner brush from Camera Ready Cosmetics. The bent and pointed tip makes applying gel or liquid eyeliner a breeze.
One of the best parts about fall is a dark vampy lip! A way to accomplish our favorite fall lip look is with Mac Chestnut lip pencil. Fully line your lips with this liner and then go over it with a burgundy lipstick to complete the look of the perfect matte fall lip color. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube Channel! You will be seeing us do this lip look in a fall makeup routine coming soon!
Today on behalf of all our team, I’m going to uncover all of the mysteries and answer the most popular question we’re getting about the different types of false eyelashes. But before defining the main differences among them, let me explain to you the reason why we use that instrumental piece of enhancement and transformation. The truth is, every part of the makeup is equally important in creating a successful look. However, beautiful and pronounced eyelashes are crucial in really making eyes pop. Since our eyes are the window of the soul, this single change can make a girl go from “Oh” to “Wow” in just a blink of an eye.
Speaking from our every day experience with commercial, bridal, as well as fashion events and photo shoots, we know that the camera diminishes the intensity of any color, and to get a perfect photo your make up should be a couple shades darker than you would normally do. That also applies to eyelashes.
In this day and age, eyelashes come in all shapes and sizes, from natural to thick and dramatic fashion versions, that are made of feather or lace, to professional grade individual eyelashes that look just flawless. No wonder why so many girls feel lost when it comes to determining which ones are appropriate for an occasion and how to choose the right one for your face and eye shapes.
Good news is, that it’s not that hard as it seems, because we broke them down into the basic types and features so you can become a PRO at lashes yourself!
# Individual professional grade falsies
This is the only type used by our Team as they give a very different feel compared to strip lashes because they are less uniformed, and depending on how many we apply and which length we use, we can create any custom effect that is always feathery and natural looking. It’s extremely important to consider when taking close up shots of your face, as lashes is the first thing that draws out attention.
Individual lashes are extremely durable, and in our practice, never give us any problems. They can be easily removed by any oil-based makeup remover with the rest of your make up, which makes them single-use enhancements. The fact that they are typically a one day wear is probably the only sad thing about them, aside that they usually require a professional application.
But, girl, they are so worth it!
# Strip Lashes/Band Lashes and Lower Lashes
Strip or band lashes come in so many different shapes and sizes and much easier to apply yourself compared to individual ones. These conventional type of lashes tend to look more “fake” as well, however they are still extremely popular in the beauty industry as you can apply them more easily yourself. Make sure to resize them by cutting the excess length off to properly fit your eye. Occasionally you can experience some problems like one side of it coming off, but the majority of them can be reused a couple times with proper care.
Choose light weight, criss-crossed pattern for an every day look, and more dramatic and thick pair of falsies for a night out.
But what you really need to know is the correct shape for your face features:
For deep-set eyes use longer lash strips so you can lengthen the eye and define the lash-line
If you have small eyes and your goal is to elongate, choose the pair with thicker outer corners. This will lift your eyes and add length.
If you have no, or very unpronounced crease or wide set eyes, open them up by focusing on the center of your lash line.
# Fashion Eyelashes
Sounds very self-explanatory, right? Made of unconventional materials, like lace, fabric or feathers- needless to say -they are so much fun to use. Since lashes are pieces of art on their own, the majority of them are one of a kind. Application is very similar to strip lashes application, just make sure that you are using a clear eyelash glue so it won’t be seen when it’s dry.
Obviously those are not suitable for an everyday use, but a great option for a fashion photo shoot or perhaps Halloween party.
Regardless of the type you choose, make sure that you use a good quality eye lash glue that matches the color of the lashes or one that is clear. Wait for 15 seconds for glue to set before applying the lashes on – this tip will make your life so much easier- mark my word.
And always remember to stay true to your style, even with a pair of falsies on!
Have a gorgeous day!
XOXO, the Team

Wrinkles are a product of sun damage, free radical damage and gravity. Most of the wrinkle creams on the market do not deliver the results they promise because they can’t penetrate the skin deeply enough to make a difference. However, eating a nutritionally packed diet, loaded with anti-oxidant, vitamin-rich foods, may produce better results than any wrinkle cream for a fraction of the price. Before spending hundreds of dollars on anti-aging products, try adding a few power-packed foods to your meal plan in conjunction with a good sunblock and products that are clinically proven to be a wrinkle cure (i.e. Retin-A and glycolic acid).
Top 3 Vitamins to Help Fight Wrinkles
Vitamins A,C & E are of utmost importance in the vitamin world of wrinkle fighters.
Unfortunately, exposure to UV rays and pollution can decrease the amount of vitamin C in the skin by up to 55% making supplementation essential.
Foods Rich in Vitamins A, C & E
Do you wear sunscreen in the winter? If you ski, you should. While ultraviolet light is definitely weaker in the winter, it reflects 4 times as much off of snow than off of sand. And as you ride that chair lift, it increases 4% for every 1,000 feet you ascend. So when you ski in Vail, you’re going above 8,000 feet, and you get a third more UV light – plus you get a dose in the face from above and a second dose from the snow.
As if that’s not bad enough, most light-skinned people have lost their summer tans by the time they ski, setting them up for even more damage.
So, what to do? A number 30 SPF sunscreen with zinc oxide will keep your nose from frying from UV light, even while it is in danger of frostbite. But that’s another story.
And for those of you who don’t brave the slopes, a number 15 SPF will keep your skin happy.*
